Chasing 260, the tourists were in a spot of bother, losing four wickets for just 72 in 16.2 overs. Before England could capitalise further, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant took charge to bail India out of trouble.
Pant and Pandya completely took the game away from the hosts, smashing their bowling attack all around the park. The pair went on to form a dominating 133 runs partnership for the fifth wicket to bamboozle the English side. Pandya got out for a well-made 71, but Pant kept hitting the balls to ensure he took India home.
Soon, Pant reached the triple-figure score to record his maiden century in the ODI format. He played an unbeaten knock of 125 off 113 balls as India won the contest by five wickets.
Earlier, Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal shined with the ball to help India bundle out England for another low score of 259 in 45.5 overs. Pandya picked up a four-wicket haul while conceding only 24 runs in seven overs, including three maidens. Similarly, Yuzvendra bagged three scalps for 60 in 9.5 overs.
For the hosts, captain Jos Buttler was the only batter who stood tall against a quality Indian bowling attack. Buttler smashed 60 from 80 deliveries, including three fours and a couple of maximums. Moeen Ali (34), Craig Overton (32), and Liam Livingstone (27) made some vital contributions down the order to help England cross the 250-run mark.

Combination of sound defence, sometimes audacious, sometimes normal attacking play controlled by a sharp and calm cricketing mind. Most importantly stays there till the end to win games for India. There is no one like Rishabh Pant!
