Virat Kohli on alleged rift with Rohit Sharma
Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has broken his silence over his alleged rift with limited-overs skipper Rohit Sharma. Ever since Rohit was named the ODI skipper of Team India, the speculation kept rising that not all is well between Kohli and Rohit.

Speaking to the media during a virtual press conference ahead of the team’s departure to South Africa for the upcoming Test series, Kohli confirmed that there is no problem between him and Rohit. The Delhi lad mentioned he has been clarifying this for the past couple of years.

“Mere aur Rohit k beech mein kuch nahi hai. Mai 2.5 saal se yahi bol raha hu. Mai thak chuka hu bol bol ke (There is no problem between me and Rohit Sharma. I have been clarifying for the past two years, and I am tired now),” said Kohli.

Kohli said he would never do anything, which eventually takes the team down as his responsibility is to push the side in the right direction. Kohli also lauded Rohit’s abilities as a leader and asserted he would give his hundred per cent support to the new captain and head coach Rahul Dravid in whatever vision they set for the team.

“I also want to say one thing that none of my actions or decisions will be to take the team down. My responsibility is to push the team in the right direction. Rohit is a very able captain and tactically very sound. Along with Rahul bhai, who is a great man-manager. They will get my 100 per cent support in ODIs and T20Is,” he added.

Notably, India are scheduled to play three Tests and as many ODIs on the tour of South Africa. Rohit has been ruled out of the Test series due to a left hamstring injury.
