The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner, and the excitement for the marquee event is clearly evident among the fans. The players taking part in the league have also started joining their team camps to train for the forthcoming tournament. However, many star Indian players haven’t yet begun preparing for IPL 2023, as they are currently representing India in the three-match ODI series against Australia.

Although despite being busy, India’s star batter Virat Kohli took out time ahead of the final ODI against the Aussies and indulged in a fun chat session with his former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers. During the discussion, Virat talked about many diverse topics on ‘”The 360 Show” and also answered some interesting questions. The 34-year-old cricketer, on being asked about the fastest and worst runner between the wickets he played along, named MS Dhoni as the best and Cheteshwar Pujara as the worst. While Virat was quick enough to term Dhoni as the the fastest, he hesitated to pick the worst runner.

“Ofcourse, its not even a question, I have been asked this question before, AB (De Villiers) has by far been the fastest I have run with between wickets, the only other guy I had so much coordination and understanding with was MS (Dhoni). Now I don’t know about the speeds between the wickets, but with him and MS I would not even have to call,” said Virat.

After being insisted by AB to also name the worst runner, the former India captain added: “Controversial one. Cheteshwar Pujara. It was a Centurion Test match on the tour of 2018. He was run out in both the innings.”

On the other hand, AB chose Faf du Plessis as the fastest after the co-host told him that he could not choose Virat. Notably, the veteran South Africa cricketer and Virat have played eleven seasons together for the Bangalore-based team.

“I’ve never played with MS, or else he would have been right up my list as well. Definitely Faf Du Plessis,” said the former Proteas skipper.
