The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first. PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh took the innings off to a flyer and quickly scored 26 from just 17 balls, including 2 sixes and a four. As Prabhsimran was looking to cruise further and accelerate more, MI pacer Arjun Tendulkar bowled a beauty to get rid of Punjab’s opener.
It all happened during the seventh over when Tendulkar went for a toe-crushing yorker. Prabhsimran failed to bring his bat down in time, resulting in the ball hitting his back boot. Ball-tracking indicated that the impact of the ball was in front of the middle, and it was heading straight towards the base of the middle stump.

Arjun, however, had a terrible outing otherwise, as he ended up conceding 48 runs in 3 overs, including an expensive over where he gave up 31 runs. Not just Arjun, the Punjab batters took other MI bowlers to the cleaners as well as the Sam Curran-led side went on to post a massive total of 214/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Captain Curran led from the front and smacked 55 from just 29 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Similarly, Harpreet Singh scored a quickfire 28-ball 41 with the help of 4 fours and 2 maximums. Jitesh Sharma played a jaw-dropping cameo of 25 from just 7 deliveries, including 4 humungous sixes.
