The second ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan turned out to be an intense last-over thriller. The game witnessed a dramatic finish as the Green Team snatched a narrow 1-wicket victory from the jaws of defeat.
Shadab Khan’s run-out and Naseem Shah’s sensational finish
There also took place a controversial incident during the game when Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi ran out well-set Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan at the non-striker end as the batter was caught leaving the crease before the ball was bowled.

Shadab’s wicket was a big setback for Pakistan as he was batting on 48 from 35 deliveries. Although Afghanistan’s win seemed inches away after Shadab’s dismissal, Naseem Shah’s sensational finish in the last over shattered their hopes for yet another time.
It is worth mentioning that Naseem pulled off a similar win against Afghanistan during the last year’s Asia Cup where he struck consecutive sixes off the last over.
