The 31st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw Mumbai Indians (MI) lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday (April 22). PBKS emerged victorious in the high-scoring encounter by thirteen runs. The joint owner of the Punjab-based franchise Preity Zinta was also present during the clash and was exhilarated with her team’s performance in the last over thriller.

After the conclusion of the contest, Preity was spotted having a fun chat with former MI player Harbhajan Singh. The Bollywood actress started the conversation by saying one of the famous dialogues of Shahrukh Khan from his movie ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. Meanwhile, Harbhajan responded to Preity in a witty manner.

The video of the same was shared by the veteran Indian spinner on his official Instagram handle, which he captioned: “When Zara said veer’s dialogue after winning the game against Mumbai Indians . SUNO”

Here’s the video:

Speaking of the match, asked to bat first, PBKS put up a formidable total of 214/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sam Curran was the star of the innings, scoring a brilliant 55 runs off 29 deliveries. Harpreet Singh Bhatia also played an excellent knock of 41 runs off 28 balls for the Punjab-based side. In the meantime, Cameron Green and Piyush Chawla were the picks of the bowlers for MI, taking two wickets each.

In response, Mumbai started off well but lost Ishan Kishan early. However, the partnership between Green and Suryakumar Yadav kept the hopes of MI alive in the game. Although Green scored 67 runs off 43 balls and Yadav contributed with quickfire 57 runs, the rest of the Mumbai batters failed to finish the match. As a result, MI fell short by 13 runs, finishing their innings at 201/6 in their 20 overs and eventually lost the contest.

On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh was the standout performer for Punjab with the ball, taking four wickets for just 29 runs in his quota of four overs. Curran was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding all-round performance.
