Team India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022 ended with an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against England in the semi-final. Barring this contest, throughout the 20-over showpiece event, the Indian team entertained fans with quite a few memorable moments. However, one incident which stands apart from the rest was the heart-throbbing effort by superstar Virat Kohli in the match against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Kohli produced a magical outing in the Melbourne Cricket Ground, helping India register a victory on the final ball of the match. The Delhi-born had remained unbeaten on 82 off 53 during India’s successful chase, laced up with 6 fours and 4 sixes.

One of the shots from Kohli’s innings that stunned everyone, including pacer Haris Rauf, was the straight six over the bowler’s head on a good length delivery in the penultimate over. The former India skipper made space for himself as he shuffled across the crease and smashed the white leather for a massive six.

Kohli’s jaw-dropping knock is etched in the memories of Indian fans, and it seems like the Pakistani speedster Rauf hasn’t forgotten about it either. During a chat show, Rauf was given a blindfold challenge and was quizzed to guess the name of the celebrities on the screen.

When Kohli’s face appeared on the screen, the anchor hinted to Rauf by reminding him about those big sixes by the Indian batter. Soon, the Pakistani fast bowler guessed the correct answer and took Kohli’s name.

“Of course, it hurt when that went for a six. I didn’t say anything, but it hurt me personally. I thought something wrong had happened,” Rauf said while reflecting on those hits from Kohli.

However, the Rawalpindi-born also mentioned that it’s highly unlikely that Kohli will play the shot again, reasoning that such shots are quite rare in cricket.

“Anyone who knows cricket knows what sort of a player he is. He has played that shot now; I don’t think he can do that again. Such shots are quite rare, you can’t hit them again and again. His timing was perfect, and it went for a six,” Rauf added.
