Bumrah came over the wicket to Elgar and went for the angled delivery, forcing the batter to go across only to get a thick outside edge that flew quickly behind the wickets. Rishabh Pant dived to his left to take an outstanding catch.

Earlier in the day, India suffered a dreadful collapse as they went from 272/3 at the start of play to 327 all-out. After the dismissal of overnight batters KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian lower-order failed to stay in the middle for a longer time.
South Africa speedster Lungi Ngidi continued his good run on Day 3 and ended up taking a six-wicket haul. Apart from Ngidi, fast bowler Kagiso Rabada bagged three scalps. Debutant Marco Jansen claimed his maiden Test wicket by dismissing Bumrah.
Indian vice-captain Rahul was their top scorer with a knock of 123. Another opener Mayank Agarwal made 60 runs while senior lad Rahane and skipper Virat Kohli chipped in with 48 and 35, respectively.
