Mark Wood plays I'm a Barbie song at Ben Stokes' presser
One of the most discussed topics on social media these days is Barbie vs. Oppenheimer debate, as fans have shown utmost excitement after the release of two highly anticipated films. The debate has sparked numerous memes and jokes, with people divided on which film they are more excited to see. Barbie, a live-action comedy film, features Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, while Oppenheimer is a historical drama film starring Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who led the Manhattan Project to develop the atomic bomb.

The topic of Barbie has now found its way into the cricketing fraternity, as a recent amusing incident unfolded during the press conference of England captain Ben Stokes. The press conference, held ahead of the upcoming fifth and final Ashes 2023 Test, took place on July 27 at The Oval in London.

As Stokes addressed the reporters, the familiar strains of the popular Barbie song “I’m the Barbie Girl, in this Barbie world” unexpectedly filled the air in the background. The unexpected addition of the catchy tune immediately elicited laughter from everyone present, including Stokes, who briefly appeared puzzled by the sound’s origin.

Quickly realizing the light-hearted prank, Stokes playfully called out “Woody,” looking upwards towards Mark Wood, the England fast bowler, who was responsible for the playful interruption. Wood, enjoying the scenario from a different spot, seemed to revel in the laughter and amusement the prank generated.

In the midst of the playful prank, it’s important to note that England have unveiled their playing XI for the highly crucial final Test. They have decided to stick with an unchanged XI that featured in the fourth Test, which ended in a draw. With Australia currently leading the 5-match Ashes series 2-1, England is determined to secure a victory in the final Test to level the series. The fifth Test, set to unfold at The Oval, promises to deliver excitement and drama as both teams vie for victory in this historic contest.
