Mohammed Shami asking security to not harm the fan
Mohammed Shami not only dismantled the Australia line-up on Day 1 of the second Test but also won praise and applause on the internet from sports enthusiasts for a heart-warming gesture during the game.

In the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, a fan invaded the pitch by climbing over the fence with the intention to meet the Indian stars and click pictures with them. However, he was caught midway by the security officials and eventually failed to fulfill his wish.

After getting hold of the fan, the officials started pulling him out of the ground, but as the latter resisted, they opted for the aggressive way out and dragged him. Entering the field, Shami stopped by and asked the security to treat the fan kindly and gently escort him from the park. Spectators at the stands, as well as the netizens, loved the generous act by the 32-year-old Indian pacer and lauded him for his sweet gesture.

Talking about Shami’s performance in the match, it was him only who gave India their first breakthrough in the game and later went on to emerge as the highest wicket-taker for them in the first innings as he scalped four crucial wickets on Day 1 and helped the hosts bowl out the visitors for 263. The four dismissals he struck included the likes of David Warner, Travis Head, Nathan Lyon and debutant Matthew Kuhnemann.

Currently, India are batting on 21 with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul still on the crease and will resume their innings on Day 2 of the match. So far, the hosts have put up a great show with both bat and ball and will look to maintain the dominance.

Notably, India are 1-0 ahead in the four-match series.
