In a thrilling encounter between the Seattle Orcas and Washington Freedom in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 tournament, fans were treated to an incredible moment as Moises Henriques bowled a sensational delivery to dismiss Heinrich Klassen. The match, which took place at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Friday, witnessed Seattle clinching a nail-biting 5-wicket victory to kickstart their campaign on a high note.

During Seattle’s chase of 145, Washington skipper Henriques showcased his bowling prowess with a remarkable delivery that left fans and players in awe. It all happened in the 8th over when Henriques, coming over the wicket, unleashed a perfectly executed slower delivery. The ball pitched at a good length, seamed sharply, and completely bamboozled Klassen. The stumps were shattered as the ball found its way through Klassen’s defense, leaving him walking back to the pavilion. Speaking about the game, Seattle won the toss and opted to bowl first, successfully restricting Washington to 144/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Harmeet Singh played a crucial role with the ball, taking two wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs. Akeal Hosein emerged as the highest scorer for Washington, contributing an unbeaten 33 runs to their total.

In response, Seattle faced their fair share of setbacks, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, they showed resilience and composure as Imad Wasim played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 43 runs, steering Seattle to a thrilling victory. Nauman Anwar was the top-scorer for the Orcas, smashing 48 runs off 37 deliveries, including three boundaries and as many sixes.

“It was a good game of cricket. The facilities are amazing. The wicket has been a little up and down. Pretty excited for the next few games. I felt there were a few deliveries that were keeping low, it got easier to bat when the ball got older. We fought our way to get to 140. The boys tried their best, we’ll come back and try our best again,” said Henriques after the match.
