Notably, Chepauk is the home ground of the CSK franchise, and it will be after a long wait that the IPL will be returning to the venue as the home and away format of the league has been restored. Earlier, the cash-rich league was only limited to certain locations due to the breakout of the pandemic.
Dhoni had expressed his love for Chepauk time and time again and once also said that his last game of the IPL would be at the same venue in front of the Chennai crowd. The affection became more evident on Monday (March 27) when the official Twitter handle of CSK posted a video of the former India captain painting the chairs on the ground with blue and yellow spray paint.
‘Definitely looking Yellove’ Anbuden Awaiting for April 3,” CSK wrote in the caption.

The clip soon became a major talking point on social media and many fans lauded the CSK captain for his simplicity.
CSK will be playing their first home game of the 16th of the IPL against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 3. The Chennai-based team, under the leadership of Dhoni, would be eyeing their record fifth title in the upcoming tournament. The Jharkhand cricketer previously had led CSK to nine finals and four titles, making the team one of the most successful franchises in IPL history.
Talking about Dhoni’s batting, the legendary Indian cricketer has amassed 4978 runs in the tournament so far at an average of 39.20, including 24 half-centuries.
