The right-handed batter reached the three-figure mark on the second day of Mumbai’s match against Tamil Nadu at Brabourne Stadium. Sarfaraz came out to bat when Mumbai were in trouble losing their three wickets for just 79 in reply to Tamil Nadu’s first-inning total of 144. Mumbai were soon 90/4 as they lost skipper Ajinkya Rahane (42).
The 41-times Ranji Trophy winners needed someone to bail them out, and Sarfaraz stepped up, adding 167 runs for the seventh wicket with Tanush Kotian (71). The 25-year-old smashed his second century of the ongoing season and kept founding boundaries to help his side post a big total.
As soon as Sarfraz completed his hundred, the middle-order batter celebrated it animatedly as he was heard saying: “Come on boys, come on”. The video of his celebration is getting viral on various social media platforms.
