Shikhar Dhawan takes a brilliant catch in IPL 2024
The 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). PBKS won the toss and chose to field first at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. This decision turned out to be advantageous for PBKS as their bowlers provided a brilliant start, putting early pressure on the SRH batting lineup.

Early dismissals

In the early overs of the match, PBKS bowler Arshdeep Singh made a significant impact, grabbing two crucial wickets. Travis Head, the dangerous Australian opener, fell victim to Arshdeep’s delivery, thanks to a sensational catch by PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan.

On the second delivery of the fourth over in SRH’s innings, Arshdeep delivered a tempting outside off stump delivery, inducing Head into a fancy shot. However, Head could only manage a massive top-edge. Dhawan, positioned perfectly at mid-off, showcased his agility by running backward and executing a brilliant catch, sending Head back to the pavilion.
