The maiden Women’s Premier League (WPL) ended with Mumbai Indians (MI) emerging out to be the tournament’s first champion and turned out to be a great success as it became a big hit globally. The players participating in the tournament played a major role in its success by putting up a great show with their phenomenal batting, bowling and fielding.

Shikha Pandey‘s brilliant fielding effort came in the match no. 11 of the tournament between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where she pulled off a stunner at the short fine by diving towards her left and sent back RCB’s Heather Knight to the pavilion.

Jemimah Rodrigues took an excellent catch against Mumbai Indians (MI) to remove Hayley Matthews in the tournament’s 18th game. She caught the MI batter inside the third yard with a perfect dive towards her right. Jemimah herself was stunned by her effort and kissed the ball to celebrate the dismissal.

DC’s Radha Yadav‘s stunning catch was in the Delhi vs UP Warriorz (UPW) clash to dismiss Deepti Sharma in match no. 5 of WPL 2023 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The brilliant effort by Radha came in the 11th over of the second innings, where she charged on from the long on and took a diving catch off Shikha’s delivery.

The sensational effort by Jemimah came against Mumbai in the 7th match when her team met the eventual champions for the first time in the tournament. Jemimah took a phenomenal catch in the contest to remove Matthews in a spectacular effort. The DC player charged in from a long distance and kept an eye on the ball till the last moment.

1) Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians)​

One of the best catches of the WPL was taken by MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. Harmanpreet took a blinder in the match no. 15 of the league against UPW to dismiss opener Devika Vaidya in the second over. The sensational effort by Harmanpreet was adjudged the Catch of the Tournament.
