Electing to bat first, UAE posted a challenging total of 284/7 in their 50 overs courtesy of Asif Khan‘s brilliant 82 runs off 86 deliveries, which included five fours and two sixes. Opener Waseem Muhammad also played a crucial knock of 65 runs off 52 balls, including five fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Julius Sumerauer was the pick of the bowlers for Jersey, taking four wickets for 51 runs.
In response, Jersey struggled to keep up with the required run rate, losing wickets at regular intervals. Harrison Carlyon played a lone hand for Jersey with a brilliant knock of 85 runs off 89 balls, which included seven fours and five sixes. However, he did not receive much support from the rest of the batting line-up as Jersey were bowled out for 218 in 44.5 overs, falling short by 66 runs. On the other hand, Karthik Meiyappan shined for UAE with the ball and scalped four wickets and gave away 57 runs in his quota of 10 overs. Junaid Siddique contributed with three wickets as well.
During the second innings, a bizarre and hilarious incident also took place in which a UAE bowler named Rohan Mustafa jokingly tried to hit Jersey batter at the non-striker end. It all happened on the fourth bowl of the 20th when Mustafa caught and bowled Jersey’s Josh Lawrenson after bumping the ball multiple times on his hands.
After completing the catch, Mustafa jokingly went towards the non-striker batter and signalled to hit him, leaving everyone on the field in laughter. The video of the same soon went viral on the internet.

Asif was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his exceptional batting performance in the game.
