India’s dominant performance in the third ODI against West Indies at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad on Tuesday resulted in a resounding victory by 200 runs, leading them to clinch the series 2-1. Despite opting to rest senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the Indian team displayed their strength and depth by making some strategic changes to the playing XI.

The opening partnership of Ishan Kishan (77) and Shubman Gill (85) was instrumental in providing a solid foundation, forming a remarkable 143-run stand. This set the stage for a big total, and Sanju Samson, who had been looking for a substantial contribution, finally made an impact with a 41-ball 51. The stand-in skipper, Hardik Pandya, was in destructive form, hammering an unbeaten 70 off just 52 balls, further boosting India’s total. Suryakumar Yadav‘s valuable 35 runs added to the team’s final score of 351-5 in their allotted 50 overs.

West Indies’ response was faltering right from the start as India’s bowlers, led by Mukesh Kumar (3/30) and Shardul Thakur (4/37), struck early to dismantle the top order and reduce the hosts to 88-8. Despite a half-century partnership between Alzarri Joseph (26) and Gudakesh Motie (39*), the West Indies managed only 151 runs in the end, falling short by a massive margin.

Virat Kohli steals the limelight with his dashing avatar

Despite not playing the match, Kohli garnered attention for his stylish appearance while watching the game from the dugout. Sporting expensive black sunglasses and a luxurious watch, the 34-year-old looked dapper and relaxed. He was seen engaged in conversations with players Umran Malik and Axar Patel. Broadcasters captured the moment, adding the famous Bollywood song ‘Kala Chashma’ in the background, which further added to the social media buzz.

Here’s the video:

The Twitterati couldn’t keep themselves calm from reacting to the dapper look of Kohli and showed their admiration for the star batter.
