Adelaide Strikers restrict Sydney Sydney Sixers to manageable total
Asked to bat first, The Sydney Sixers’ innings saw a struggle to build momentum, with Suzie Bates, Ellyse Perry, and Ashleigh Gardner contributing some runs. Maitlan Brown was the standout performer, scoring 32 runs from 28 deliveries. However, the Strikers’ bowlers put on a disciplined display, with Amanda Wellington and Anesu Mushangwe taking two wickets each. In the end, the Sixers managed to post a target of just 112 runs for the Strikers.

In response, the Adelaide Strikers Women chased down the target with 17 balls to spare, finishing at 114/5 in 17.1 overs. Katie played a crucial knock, scoring 50 runs from 45 balls. Tahlia McGrath‘s (36 runs) and other batters also chipped in with valuable contributions.
Although Lauren Cheatle and Ashleigh Gardner fought back with the ball and bagged two wickets each for the Sixers’, they failed to defend the target and the Strikers registered a comfortable win.
Katie’s half-century was the standout performance that guided the Adelaide-based side to victory. Nevertheless, the Strikers’ bowlers also played a crucial role in limiting the Sixers to a below-par total.
With the win, Adelaide Strikers strengthened their position at the top of the points table, while Sydney Sixers have slipped to the last spot in the team standings.
