In a riveting clash at the Junction Oval, Melbourne Stars Women managed to secure a thrilling 7-run victory over Perth Scorchers Women in the 15th match of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2023.

Melbourne Stars Innings​


After winning the toss, Melbourne Stars elected to bat, posting a competitive total of 154 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Notable contributions from Annabel Sutherland, who scored 49 runs off 27 deliveries, and Alice Capsey, who added 31 runs from 25 balls, propelled their team’s total.

Perth Scorchers Innings​


In response, Perth Scorchers fought valiantly but fell short, managing to score 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Maddy Darke‘s impressive knock of 45 runs from 33 balls wasn’t enough to guide her team to victory.

Sophie Day‘s stellar bowling performance for Melbourne Stars Women proved to be a game-changer, claiming 4 crucial wickets and conceding 27 runs in her 4 overs. This exceptional effort played a pivotal role in securing the victory for her team.
