England and Australia are all set to lock horns with each other in the first T20I of the three-match series at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 1). It is worth mentioning that this T20I leg is part of the multi-format Women’s Ashes 2023 that commenced with a one-off Test at Trent Bridge which Australia won by 89 runs.

Just like the one-off Test, Alyssa Healy will lead the Aussie side in the shortest format of the game. Meanwhile, Heather Knight will also continue to captain the English team.

Australia’s last T20I game was in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 earlier this year. The Women in Yellow defeated South Africa in the final of the event and clinched their record sixth title. On the other hand, England’s last T20I game was also in the semi-final of the same tournament, which they lost to the Proteas side.
