The cricketing world is abuzz with anticipation as the Women’s Super Smash 2023-24 gears up for its seventeenth edition, promising cricket enthusiasts an exhilarating journey into the heart of Women’s T20I action. The defending champions, Canterbury Magicians, are set to clash with Auckland Hearts in the opening game of the league on December 19 (Tuesday), igniting the flames for what promises to be a thrilling tournament.

Teams in the fray​


As before, six formidable teams are set to vie for the championship in this edition of the Women’s Super Smash. The participating teams include Auckland Hearts, Canterbury Magicians, Central Hinds, Northern Brave, Otago Sparks, and Wellington Blaze. Each team boasts a formidable squad featuring some of the most prominent stars in women’s cricket.

Star-Studded lineup​


The tournament promises a galaxy of cricketing stars, with notable names such as Suzie Bates, Sophie Devine, Chamari Athapaththu, Amelia Kerr, Isabella Gaze, Laura Hughes, and many others set to grace the field. These players bring a wealth of experience and skill, setting the stage for exceptional performances and unforgettable moments throughout the competition.

Format and structure​


The Women’s Super Smash 2023-24 will maintain its traditional double-round robin format, ensuring that each team faces off against the others twice, playing a total of 10 matches. The team that finishes at the top of the table will secure a direct ticket to the final, while the sides finishing in second and third positions will battle it out in a knockout semi-final game.
