Reigning champion and host Bangladesh will play the tournament opener against Thailand, while India will face Sri Lanka in the second game on the first day of the multi-team event.
The fourth edition of the competition will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing six matches and the top four sides qualifying in the semifinals. The league stage will continue till October 11, while the semifinals will take place on October 13. Similarly, the final match is scheduled to take place on October 15.
Since 2012, the Women’s Asia Cup has been played in the T20 format. In 2018, Bangladesh had defeated India in the final-ball thriller to grab a major title for the first time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition, which was also slated in Bangladesh, was postponed to 2021 before eventually getting cancelled. Notably, in the upcoming edition, all the matches will be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium.
