The sudden and unexpected twist in the game provided India’s veteran cricketer Virender Sehwag a perfect opportunity to give a savage reply to Pakistan’s former pacer Shoaib Akhtar‘s jibe at the Men in Blue that the latter took during the initial phase of the game.
The rollercoaster of Pakistan’s innings
Asked to bat first, Pakistan’s innings got off to a promising start. Their opening pair showed composure, adding 41 runs. Although the duo later returned to the pavilion, it did not deter Pakistan’s spirit, and their Babar Azam scored a well-crafted fifty to build the momentum. Mohammad Rizwan supported Babar with an impressive 49 runs, forming a solid partnership that put Pakistan in a promising position, with boundaries flowing freely.
Shoaib Akhtar’s jibe at Team India
It was during this time Shoaib took a jibe at Team India by taking to X (formerly Twitter) and writing, “Wah re yeh khamosh chokkay!!” referring to the silence in the stadium on boundaries being hit by Pakistan batters. However, Shoaib’s tweet didn’t last long as Pakistan’s line-up soon fell like a house of cards in no time, and they were bundled out for just 191.

Jhel nahi paaye yaar pressure Haha..Koi nahi Shoaib Bhai. Na Ishq Na Pyaar mein.. Jo Maza 8-0 ki haar mein !”
