Rohit Sharma and bowlers help India thump Pakistan

India convincingly defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in a one-sided blockbuster clash at the packed Narendra Modi Stadium.

The fervour of the western Indian city reached a crescendo in anticipation of the tournament’s highly anticipated match. After electing to bowl first, the Indian bowling attack – led by Jasprit Bumrah – seized the initiative early on, dismissing their opponents for just 191 in 42.5 overs.

Despite the presence of Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) at the crease, Pakistan’s aspirations of reaching a total of around 300 were dashed as they suffered a dramatic collapse, unable to bat out their full quota of 50 overs.
