Initially, he bowled with great pace and precision, putting the Pakistani batters on the backfoot. However, he remained wicketless in his early spells. It was Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who introduced him back into the attack with the intent of triggering a collapse in the Pakistani batting lineup, and Bumrah didn’t disappoint.
Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance to dismiss Mohammad Rizwan
While left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav made significant contributions with two well-timed dismissals in the 33rd over, Mohammad Rizwan was still holding the fort and inching closer to his half-century at the other end. Nevertheless, on the final delivery of the 34th over, Bumrah delivered a beauty. His off-cutter outside the off stump gripped the surface and swerved sharply into the batter. Rizwan caught off guard, attempted to play around it and paid the price as his stumps were left in disarray. He was moving forward as the ball sneaked between his bat and pad.

Bumrah strikes again to remove Shadab Khan
Bumrah’s brilliance didn’t stop there. In the second delivery of the 36th over, he bowled a length ball that landed on the off stump and straightened off the surface. Shadab Khan, the Pakistani batter, played down the wrong line, and his off stump took a severe beating.
Earlier in the day, India won the toss and elected to field first. Pakistan made a promising start, but their middle order couldn’t capitalize on the early foundation, resulting in their team getting bowled out for a mere total of 191. Skipper Babar Azam was the top scorer with 50 runs, while Bumrah, Kuldeep, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya each picked two wickets in the first innings.
