At the grand musical ceremony before the India-Pakistan match in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on October 14, Bollywood singer Arijit Singh delivered a mesmerizing performance. Following his performance, Arijit made his way back to the stands to passionately support Team India. His enthusiasm was evident when India picked the vital wicket of Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, prompting Arijit to celebrate exuberantly, reminiscent of Sourav Ganguly‘s iconic celebration at Lord’s.

During the game, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistan seemed to be in control, with the scoreboard reading 155/2 in the 30th over. Babar and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan formed a robust partnership and contributed 82 runs to Pakistan’s score, placing them in a comfortable position.

However, when Mohammed Siraj breached Babar’s defenses, the tide turned in India’s favour. Babar’s dismissal brought immense joy to Indian fans, as he had appeared to be a significant threat, set for a substantial score against India. The crowd in Ahmedabad erupted with excitement, and Arijit celebrated in a unique style by waving an Indian t-shirt, reminiscent of Ganguly’s famous t-shirt-waving celebration after India’s Natwest Trophy victory over England in 2002.

Easy win for Team India​


Ultimately, Pakistan was bowled out for 191 runs, thanks to a superb bowling performance by the Indian bowlers. In response, India comfortably chased down the target with 19.3 overs to spare, securing a seven-wicket victory
