The second cycle of World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 is about to end with only a solitary game left to be played i.e. the final between India and Australia, starting June 7 at the Kennington Oval in London.

The teams occupying the first and second positions on the WTC points table are expected to engage in a fierce competition that will captivate fans from all around. Cricket Australia (CS) has picked their Team of the Tournament, featuring some superstars of the game. This ‘best XI’ selection honours the players who consistently performed throughout the two-year cycle of the WTC and aims to assemble a team that would thrive in any playing conditions.

The team selection includes three fast bowlers, two spinners and a highly aggressive middle-order batting lineup. For the openers, CA went with Usman Khawaja and Dimuth Karunaratne. In the middle-order, CA picked Babar Azam, Joe Root and Travis Head.

The Aussie cricket gave the wicketkeeping duties to Rishabh Pant, similarly, Ravindra Jadeja was named as the spin all-rounder while Ravichandran Ashwin was picked as the specialist spinner. CA went with three fast bowlers in the form of Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and James Anderson. Cummins was also named as the captain of the side.
