The International Cricket Council (ICC) has designated May 1 as the deadline to unveil the squads for the T20 World Cup 2024. Accordingly, cricket boards worldwide have commenced announcing their teams for the forthcoming global event. Following suit, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the Indian squad on Tuesday.

Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal secured a spot in the team after showcasing his bowling prowess in recent years. Reacting to this, Dhanashree Verma, the wife of the Indian spinner, shared her happiness on social media.

After the team announcement, Dhanashree shared BCCI’s post on her Instagram story, expressing her delight as Chahal finally got the chance to display his skills on the grandest stage of T20 cricket.

“Come on Yuzi Chahal. He is back,” Dhanashree wrote, accompanied by heart and high-five emojis.

Chahal’s performance in IPL 2024​


The Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowler has shown remarkable form in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Over his last nine matches, Chahal has secured 13 wickets while maintaining an economy rate of 9. Additionally, the 33-year-old delivered exceptional performances in the previous IPL season as well. Chahal claimed 21 wickets in 14 matches with an ace economy rate of 8.18. These outstanding performances resulted in his inclusion in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.
