Riyan Parag has been in excellent form for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2024. He has been batting with maturity and his knock was instrumental in their victory against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Chasing a modest target of 125 runs, Rajasthan lost early wickets and were 42/2 when Parag came to the crease. He played a responsible innings, scoring an unbeaten 54 runs off just 39 balls with five fours and three sixes.

Impressive performance in domestic cricket​

Parag has consistently delivered strong performances in domestic cricket. Across 49 List A matches, he has amassed 1720 runs with an impressive average of 41.95. Parag attributes his recent success to a simple mantra: “Watch the ball and hit the ball.” Following a convincing victory against MI, Parag elaborated on his approach, stating that he has adopted a more straightforward cricketing philosophy. He explained, “I’m not overthinking the game anymore. I’m simply focusing on playing basic cricket – watch the ball and hit the ball.”
